The area is named after Planet Calypso's capital city Port Atlantis where new colonists used to arrive from Calypso Gateway in the past. Nowadays they arrive at Camp Icarus east of Port Atlantis.
Consequently the area to a large extent is designed for new arrivals. There are beginners missions, low level creatures to fight, basic wave events and instances, and much more.
