In order to help new people understand the special lingo and abbreviations that are used in EU (as well as other MMORPGs), we have compiled a list that we hope will clarify some of the most-used terms.


Entropia Universe specific terms:

  • ATH = All Time High. The 100 highest ever loots for each of the 3 major professions or number of kills.
  • BP = BluePrint. A list of ingredients used in the crafting professions.
  • ESI = Empty Skill Implant. A chip used for storing skills on.
  • EU = Entropia Universe. Formerly known as PE.
  • FL = A list of people you have befriended. It shows when they are online and offers an easy way to get in touch with them.
  • FPC = First Planet Company. A subsidiary of MA, responsible for storylines and content in EU.
  • Gratz = Congratulations.
  • HOF = Hall Of Fame. The 100 highest loots on a particular day for each of the 3 major professions or number of kills.
  • LA = Land Area. A piece of land that a player can own and raise taxes for hunting and mining on.
  • MA = MindArk, the creators and proprietors of Entropia Universe.
  • ME = Mind Essence. Fuel for the MindForce profession. It is obtained by refining Force Nexus and Vibrant Sweat.
  • PE = Project Entropia, the predecessor of Entropia Universe.
  • PEC = Project Entropia Cent. There are 100 PEC in 1 PED.
  • PED = Project Entropia Dollar. 10 PED equals 1 USD (US Dollar).
  • PM = Private Message.
  • RCE = Real Cash Economy.
  • SOC = Society. Like Guilds in other MMORPGs.
  • Sweating = The extraction of Vibrant sweat from MOBs.
  • Tanking = Engaging a MOB and absorbing its damage rather than relying on other tactics.
  • TP = Teleporter. TPs offer a quick way to travel to places you visited before.
  • TT = Trade Terminal. Where you can buy from or sell to the game.
  • TT Food = Anything that has little or no markup and generally is sold back to the game.
  • VU = Version Update. A patch or fix to the Entropia Universe software.

  • Agi = Agility.
  • AL = Animal Lore.
  • AT = Animal Taming.
  • BLP = Binary Liquid Propellant.
  • BPC = Blueprint Comprehension.
  • CGA = Calypso Ground Assessment.
  • CR = Combat Reflexes.
  • CS = Cokmbat Sense.
  • COU = Courage.
  • DEX = Dexterity.
  • ENG = Engineering.
  • FA = First Aid.
  • HA = Hit Ability.
  • HG = Handgun.
  • HP = HealthPoints.
  • IMD = Inflict Melee Damage.
  • INT = Intelligence.
  • IRD = Inflict Ranged Damage.
  • LB = Longblades.
  • LWT = Laser Weaponry Technology.
  • MA = Martial Arts.
  • MC = Melee Combat.
  • MDA = Melee Damage Assessment.
  • MF = MindForce.
  • MMS = MarksmanShip.
  • PERC = Perception.
  • PF = PowerFist.
  • PSY = Psyche.
  • RDA = Ranged Damage Assessment.
  • SB = Shortblades.
  • SIB = Skill Increase Bonus.
  • SG = Sweat Gatherer.
  • STR = Strength.
  • WH = Weapons Handling.

Places in Entropia Universe:

  • CND = Club NEVERDIE. An asteroid in space hosting a nightclub with 20 domes for hunting and mining.
  • CP = Crystal Palace. A spacestation containing 4 domes with Aurli and Kreltin MOBs.
  • NO = New Oxford.
  • PA = Port Atlantis.
  • PVP3 / PVP4 = Areas where a player can be looted by other players.
  • Sweat Camp = An area North and slightly West of PA, and the main area for new players to sweat. It's near coordinates 5644, 9160.
  • TI = Treasure Island.

General MMORPG terms:

  • Aggro = The distance a MOB can spot a player and will attack that player, or the act of the MOB charging the player.
  • AI = Artificial Intelligence.
  • Camping / Farming: A player sticking to a single location or killing a single (type of) MOB.
  • Crit = Critical Hit. When the player or a MOB deals more damage than usual.
  • CTD = Crash To Desktop. When a game completely shuts down.
  • DPS = Damage Per Second.
  • FTW = For The Win. Used to indicate something has the appreciation of the person using the term.
  • KS = Kill Stealing. When another player steals a MOB that a player already started killing.
  • Lag = Delay in the game. Usually caused by network latency or slow hardware.
  • Loot = Item(s) dropped by MOBs after the players kill them. Bounty.
  • MOB = Any enemy in the game driven by AI.
  • MMORPG = Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game.
  • Nerf = A fix by the game creators to a specific item or skill. Usually making it less useful than before.
  • Newb = A new player.
  • Noob = A new player. Usually used as a derogatory term.
  • NPC = Non Player Character.
  • OWN = To defeat.
  • PK = Player Killing.
  • Pulling = The act of getting a mob to aggro a player.
  • PVP = Player Vs. Player.
  • PWN = See OWN.
  • Spawn = Monsters appearing in a general area.
  • Uber = A player with high-end equipment and/or skills.
  • WTB = Want To Buy.
  • WTS = Want To Sell.

Chat terms:

  • AFAIK = As Far As I Know.
  • AFK = Away From Keyboard.
  • BB = Bye Bye.
  • BRB = Be Right Back.
  • BRT = Be Right There.
  • BTW = By The Way.
  • CU = See You.
  • HTH = Hope This Helps.
  • GG = Good Going.
  • GTG = Got To Go.
  • IMHO = In My Humble Opinion.
  • IRL = In Real Life.
  • J/K = Just Kidding.
  • LMAO = Laughing My Ass Off.
  • LOL = Laughing Out Loud.
  • NP = No Problem.
  • N(V)M = Never Mind.
  • OMG = Oh My God.
  • OMW = On My Way.
  • RO(T)FL = Rolling On (The) Floor Laughing.
  • TY(VM) = Thank You Very Much.
  • WB = Welcome Back.
  • Woot = "Hoorah" or "Yay"!
  • WTG = Way To Go.
  • YW = You're Welcome.
