Virtual World Developer MindArk Expands Data Center Environment with Interxion
(Gothenburg, Sweden) – March 25, 2009 - MindArk PE AB, developers of the virtual world's platform, Entropia Platform, today announced the expansion of its data center with Interxion. The company hosts the virtual Entropia Universe -- an expanding universe of interoperable 3D virtual worlds. The virtual universe is set for upcoming growth with the launch of several new planets from independent developers using the CryENGINE®2 graphics motor.
Mats Kling, CTO at MindArk's support and operations subsidiary EUSO AB, commented, "As our global user base all connects to one virtual universe, we have extremely high performance demands for networking services with the lowest latency to the US and Asia. Interxion's data center further offers us the highest level of security, power supply, cooling, fire detection and prevention and operational support to guarantee 24x7 availability of Entropia."
Interxion's data center site offers 2N UPS power and N+1 cooling, as well as the most advanced alarm and monitoring systems. It supports the latest high-density power configurations and runs on 100% green energy with free cooling and maximum-efficiency components as standard. Customer equipment and connectivity are monitored 24x7 by expert local staff as well as Interxion's European Customer Support Centre (ECSC) both of which have ISO 27001-certified information security management systems.
Michel van den Assem, Managing Director with Interxion, added, "We pride ourselves on offering the best possible combination of security and availability, along with access to a wide range of carrier networks, and this creates an ideal environment for innovative interactive platforms like MindArk's Entropia Universe."
