Hello there! Good, you’re awake. I know I said to meet me here, but it’s never a good idea to sleep out in the open. You could catch a cold…true, we are in the tropics. Well, better safe than sorry. I’ve got an extra sweater, would you like to borrow it? Well, perhaps later then.
I got all of the provisions I think we’ll need. Let’s see (rummage) I’ve got a few bottles of water, some sunscreen, and a sandwich or two. I asked my…friend Io if I might borrow her gun for protection, but she seemed reluctant to loan it to me for some reason. Not to worry though, I’ve got my trusty slingshot…although I don’t think that will do much if we were to be charged by a wild boar.
So, what was our first objective? I don’t have the most remarkable memory. Why don’t you open up your Quest/ Mission Log, by choosing it in your desktop icons, so that we can re-familiarize ourselves with our goals. Hmmm, it appears that we have four sensors to find and activate. I really hope that they’re not too far! I did put on my good walking shoes, but I must admit that they are not very well broken in. Let’s start by making sure that the tracker is turned on for this mission. You can turn the tracker on and off by toggling the Track button at the bottom of your Quest/Mission Log. It’s safe to assume that the tracker is enabled if you see a green tracker circle on your radar.
Now, let’s line up the beam of light on your radar with the tracker marker that is shown there. On my map it says that Sensor Alpha is located at position (136348, 84301). The tracker appears to be pointing us in this direction. Well, onward!
And now we cross the bridge. I really like the way my shoes sound on the wooden slats…
We should give Mary a wave on our way around the Teleporter and then we’re off across this other bridge…clop, clop, clop…no, I wasn’t imitating a horse, I was trying to imitate the way my shoes sound…I’ll just carry the picnic basket.
Ah! I think I see it over there….
Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever really appreciated how pretty this is. It’s like a giant flower…sigh! It’s very romantic with the moon hanging over it so gracefully..sorry, is that a bit weird? I was just thinking about someone else…well! Go ahead and give Sensor Alpha a good hard NIK, double click, and let’s see what happens.
Oh! That was very exciting, wasn’t it? Signals being sent up into space…I wonder if the First Wavers will be able to tell that we’re looking for them? If they’re still alive…but I’m sure they are! Right? I hope so…
Alright, when we line up the tracker with the new location it appears to be pointing us…in the exact direction we just came from. Sigh! You would think with so many great minds gathered in one location they might be able to eliminate the need for unnecessary walking a bit..oh! Forgive me, I get a bit testy when I’m feeling hungry. I’ll just have one of these sandwiches and we can continue. My map indicates that Sensor Beta is at position (136979, 84094).
There’s Mary again. Should we wave a second time or would that just look weird? Like we’re walking back and forth just to go on waving at her…no, you’re right. Being that she is a robot it’s unlikely that she’ll think anything of it. I just don’t like feeling creepy…
And there’s Samuel again…should we try sneaking up on him? Just for a bit of fun…or would that be rude. Well, the moment is past I suppose.
Oh! We haven’t been this way yet. How exciting! The radar indicates that after walking through that gap in the wall we should turn right.
It’s very pretty, isn’t it. I guess we just follow this nice path for a ways. I like this so much more than walking through the grass. Thanks be to the scientists for fine paths!
I’ve always wanted to live in one of those tree houses, but I’m a bit accident prone so my mother is set against it. Perhaps if I built one with very secure railings I might be able to assure her of its safety…my carpentry skills are a bit weak though. I wonder if Io likes tree houses…Oh! Sorry, look at me getting carried away with my musings again.
The radar indicates that we should take a sharp left when we come upon that next sign post and then continue following the path down the mountainside.
I really wish there were some sign posts pointing in the direction of the sensors…well, perhaps the scientists didn’t want them to be so easily accessible. That would explain why they’ve been placed all over the island instead of in a nice little ring at the center of town. That’s what I would have done.
The radar shows that when we come to this second sign post we should take a sharp right down the mountain path.
At this third sign post we should continue straight. Oh! There’s a nice little bridge back down there that I’d like to walk across, but the radar is pointing away from it…well, perhaps we’ll come back this way later…
Ah! It’s one of the teleporters! If only we’d known its location earlier we might have just teleported here instead of taking that long walk…the teleporters always make my ears ring a bit though. It says that it’s the Crystal Cove teleporter…that’s marked on my map at position (137046, 84293). If you’d like to add this teleporter location to your map so that it is functional for later use then I would recommend walking up close to it.
The radar shows that we should continue walking down this path with the teleporter on our left…
Hooray!!! We’ve found Sensor Beta. AHHHHH!!! Where did all of the papoo come from?! They must have been hiding out in the hills and waiting for unsuspecting islanders to attack. Sorry, I’d like to let go of your shirt, but I’m afraid that my hands have locked up in terror and I can’t seem to let go. I’ll try not to stretch your collar out too much. Let’s just quickly start the sensor and then make a run for it before the papoo notice us.
Thank goodness! They seem to not have noticed that we’ve penetrated their defenses…unless there is one standing right behind us! Sorry, I’m trying not to shriek…I’ll turn around very slowly on the count of three. One…two…three…AH! Thank goodness! They’re not looking at us, but my yelling might encourage them to. Let’s be on our way. I hope there aren’t any more of them at Sensor Gamma…I may start having nightmares again.
So now that we’ve gotten a bit of space between ourselves and the papoo let’s check the radar…it indicates that we should walk up in the direction of that hill. That doesn’t really look like a path, does it? Sensor Gamma is marked on my map at position (136132, 84823).
No, no path. Well, I guess this will help me break in my new shoes further.
Hachoo! I think I’m a bit allergic to this type of grass. I wish we had a botanist here to tell me what it is so that I might avoid it…I think they all disappeared with the First Wave though. Perhaps one of the robots might know…
Ah! A path! Hooray!!! Oh, is that the path we walked to get to Sensor Beta?…so we could have just followed it back this way instead of climbing over the hill…well, the radar isn’t that specific. It looks like we take a left and follow this path for a ways.
Look it’s the bridge from before! The radar shows that we should cross it here I think. Well I guess here is the only place to cross unless we wanted to wade through the water and then cross from the other side…yes, I’ll just carry the picnic basket…
Alright, now that we’re on the other side of the bridge the radar indicates that we should turn left. I guess we just keep following this nice path. Oh! Do you see that funny little hut on the right? I’ve heard from Io that it’s called the Sacred Death Tiki…she wouldn’t tell me why though. All she said was that the story was so frightening it would just add to my nightmares. Let’s just keep walking…
Do you see that little pool of water on our left? I wonder why they built a pier on it when it’s hardly more than a puddle. Perhaps some overly enthusiastic fisherman wanted to expand his carpentry skills.
The radar shows that we should cross over this bridge. No, I already promised to stop making the shoe sounds so I’ll restrain myself. Would you mind if I skipped over it though?
Hooray!!! Sensor Gamma…let’s have a race to see who can reach and start it first! No, this is just for fun. It has absolutely nothing to do with the papoo who may or may not be hiding out nearby waiting to strike…
Alright, one more and then we can return to Crystal Resort.
The radar indicates that we should go back across the bridge we just crossed.
Now it looks like we should walk towards that bridge down the way, but the radar doesn’t quite line up with that. It looks like it wants us to walk up this hill on the left. I hope I’m reading this thing correctly…
More grass and trees…apparently scientists don’t like pathways.
Look at how blue the water is from here. I would kind of like to go for a swim, but it’s probably fairly cold. There also might be hungry fish. The radar shows that we should walk just around the edge here and then keep going straight.
Hachoo! Sorry, the grass must be releasing some sort of pollen. I can feel my eyes beginning to swell…do I look any different to you? No? Are you sure? Well anyway, the radar looks like it’s pointing us in the direction of those trees ahead. Do you have a handkerchief I might borrow?
Ah! Look it’s Supply Cache A, but I don’t see any Sensor nearby…
The radar looks like it’s pointing us up this hill…you don’t believe me? Here have a look. I’m not reading it incorrectly, right?
Puff! Puff! Puff! Where are we? The radar is pointing us straight up this pathway, but I don’t see any sign of a Sensor. I think I’ll have this thing checked by one of the robots when we make it back to civilization.
I’m going to go ahead and cover my nose while we walk through the grass. Here, you go ahead and hold the radar for a moment.
Ah! I see Sensor Delta! But why did the radar lead us all the way up this hill…well I suppose we can take that stairway there back down.
Thank goodness! The final sensor. Well, let’s get it operational and then be on our way.
Now that we’ve gotten all of the sensors up and running the radar appears to indicate that we should return to Crystal Resort. I suppose we had better talk to Samuel to receive our next quest. I hope it involves couches and laying down…
How many steps do you think there are? Should we play a counting game? Right, I’ll just do it in my head then.
Ah! I recognize that arch. We’re nearly there!!!
I love that tree house. It’s so hard to get all the way up though. Have you seen the gap in the walkway? I’m always a bit afraid to jump it as I’m a bit accident prone.
Hello, Fyodor!!! He’s over there on the right. Hello!!! Did you just see him look this way and then pretend that he didn’t notice us?! How rude…as if I’m an embarrassment. I didn’t know that robots could feel embarrassed.
There’s Mary over there. I’d like to wave to her, but what if she reacts as Fyodor did? I don’t think I could take it. Perhaps it would be best if we just gave her a nod and hello. Am I overthinking this?
Hey there, Samuel. How have you been? No, not that much has been going on. Just tracking down sensors all over the island and fighting off the papoo. Oh, really?! It looks like the minute the last sensor went online Samuel started to receive signals…what does that mean exactly?
It appears that Samuel has another quest for us to complete that involves convincing Mary to give us some Time Crystals so we can teleport to Ancient Greece. This sounds like a fairly dangerous mission. Also, Mary is a bit stubborn so reasoning with her might require quite some time. Let’s take another short break so I can fetch some fresh provisions. If you’re going to fall asleep out here again you should really consider borrowing my sweater. No? Alright then. See you soon.
